The history of Charles Darwin University(CDU) dates back to 1950s. The university is located in the capital city of Darwin in the heart of Australia's tropical north. No other single Australian university covers such a large area of the continent and that too in a remote location having such a small population to sustain it.  The Northern Territory campus of CDU showcases the best of a tropical cosmopolitan lifestyle right on Asia’s doorstep. It is a dual-sector university and a member of the group of seven Innovative Research Universities in the country. In such a short space of time, CDU has gained a reputation as one of the most innovative teaching and learning and most research-intensive universities in Australia. It is recognised as a leader in online education – creativity, versatility and liberty to embrace the history and traditions of First Australians.
