Nottingham is among the most flourishing and innovative cities in the United Kingdom, thanks to the legendary epic of Robin Hood. Its cathedrals, caverns, and historic landmarks bring the past and present together, making it an intriguing city to explore whatever your inclinations may be.

Nottingham is quickly establishing itself being one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United Kingdom. World-class shopping, edgy exhibitions, and dynamic entertainment are just a few of the city’s metropolitan attractions. Nottingham’s unique charms turn this city into a one-of-a-kind travel trip.

It can be the ideal place for you to enjoy most of your student life. Thus, this article elaborates on the best areas to live as a student in Nottingham.

Talbot Street

Talbot Street is in the heart of the city, adjacent to cafés, nightclubs, restaurants, and shopping. The location allows the students to experience a convenient stay since the place is located within 7-minutes of walking distance from Nottingham Trent University and is only a 10-minutes’ drive away from the University of Nottingham. The Nottingham Playhouse is located just a short walk away from Talbot Street, where you can enjoy theatrical performances

The neighbourhood is well-connected to other parts of the city via public transportation, with the closest bus stop only a few steps away. Walking to the Nottingham Trent University Tram Stop takes only 5-minutes while walking to the Nottingham train station requires approximately 15-minutes. These transportation options make it simple for students to get around the city and transit to their university. Everything else is also in close proximity, from busy bars and restaurants to stores and supermarkets.

City Centre

The City Centre contains the highest concentration of Nottingham Trent University students. Nottingham city centre is a great place to live, with almost everything within easy commuting distance. You’ll never be far away from where ever you’d like to go. For all your food requirements and midnight snacking, there is an Aldi right on your doorway, and you’ll be less than a 10-minute walk from most of the city’s top attractions.

If you attend Nottingham Trent University or planning to study there, the city centre is arguably the finest place to reside, especially if you’re studying on the city campus. However, due to the excellent transportation links, many students who attend the University of Nottingham and other Nottingham Trent institutions also choose to live in the city centre because it provides the best experience.

Arboretum

The Arboretum is the nearest suburb to the city centre, located just north of Nottingham Trent University. As a result, it provides students with everything they require within a reasonable walking distance, featuring numerous restaurants, stores, and gardens. The Student Union of the University of Nottingham is also close by, and this area of the city is noted for having a vibrant nightlife and party atmosphere for students.

Lenton

During the summer, Lenton is a calm and largely uninhabited region, but from September to May, it is home to roughly 10,000 people, the majority of whom are students because of its closeness to the University of Nottingham.

Lenton is also a popular hangout location for recent graduates as well as students. Its location is ideal for those who choose to live close to the town to enjoy everything it has to offer.  The city centre is just about a 20-minutes’ walk or a 10-minutes’ bus ride away. Sainsbury’s local, Tesco Express, and a gym at Castle Marina serve the region effectively. If you want to live somewhere quiet, head to Old Lenton’s charming streets, which are nonetheless conveniently interconnected to the city via the Gregory Street tram station.

In a nutshell, these are all the best neighbourhoods in Nottingham to reside as a student. If you’ve been seeking student accommodation in either of these places, be sure to check out University Living.
