He was in the office from 2002 to 2007. However, his legacy goes back to the pre-independence era. Mr. Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. His full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Adbul Kalam. During his tenure, his mission was to transform India into a fully developed country by 2020.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Education\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Kalam earned his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology in 1960. He began his career as an Aeronautical Engineer at Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and later, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He played a crucial political role during the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2005, he was invited at an event in Switzerland. His visit made his so popular that the event was declared as \u201cScience Day\u201d in India.
