Yale University Admission Process 

Yale University has only one intake; Fall. Domestic and international students have the same admission procedure and requirements. First year applicants at Yale University must submit the following: 

  • The Common Application with Specific Questions. 
  • The Coalition Application with Specific Questions. 
  • The QuestBridge National College Application. 

Applicants can submit any of these question applications without preference for one over another.

Application Deadline 

Applicants must submit their applications to Yale University before the application deadline. The single-choice early action date is November 1, 2024, for the Fall 2025 admission cycle. The regular decision date is January 2, 2025. Applicants must submit their Coalition Applicaition, Common Application, or QuestBridge National College Application before these deadlines.

Admission Requirements 

Each applicant must meet the admission requirements to successfully apply for admission at Yale. Here are all the admission requirements. 

  • Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, AP, or IB). 
  • English proficiency scores (IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL). 
  • High school transcript. 
  • Two Letter of Recommendations from gazettes officers (Teacher/ Counselor). 
  • Application fee; $80 or fee waiver. 

Admission Interviews for First-Year Applicants 

Admission interviews offer an opportunity to share additional details with the admissions team. 

  • They are evaluated and considered alongside the application. 
  • Interviews are not required, and not getting one does not hurt your chances. 
  • Yale prioritizes interviews for applicants needing more evaluation. 
  • You cannot request an interview; alumni or student interviewers will contact you. 
  • Interviews are now conducted remotely, not during campus visits. 

If invited, it’s a good chance to highlight your strengths, but it won’t disadvantage you if you don’t get one.

Yale University Scholarships 

Yale University offers need-based scholarships to offer financial assistance.
