It is a multicultural and fast-growing city with over 3,000 diverse international students.

It is home to the University of Galway, one of the UK’s top universities.

Student Accommodation Costs 

When you are looking for student accommodation in Galway, there are three types of housing available. They have their pricing, room types, and policies. Below is the list of the three types of accommodation to help you find the one that suits you most: 

1. Student Housing

In student housing, you have the choice of two types of rooms: en-suite and studio. The properties are located off-campus but in the vicinity of the campus. It comes with modern amenities and all-inclusive utility bills. 

Most of the accommodations are at a distance of under 3 miles. While the ones outside of the city center are upto 20 miles.

2. Private Apartment

For this type of student accommodation, you can rent a private apartment. It’s up to you whether you want to stay on your own or share the rent with friends. It is fully furnished with modern amenities, and the utility bill is inclusive. It is located close to universities.

3. University Halls

University halls is a building built for a student who wants to stay on-campus. It is owned and managed by the university. There is a wide range of rooms available for students studying at a particular university.

Food

The prices of meals can vary depending on what you eat and where you eat. For instance, a meal will cost an average of €15, while a cup of coffee is €3.56, and a pint of beer will be around €5.

Utility Bills

As mentioned above, if you stay in student housing, your utility bills will be inclusive of rent. While, at university halls, it can differ as per the university’s policies. 

Transportation

Galway is filled with tiny streets. Most places are within walking distance. You can get around on foot to close places. But, if you want to use public transport, you can use a bus service that runs daily. Get yourself a leap card and use it for any bus service at a cheap rate.
