The University of Cambridge, also known as Cambridge University, is in Cambridge, England. It is one of the second-oldest English-speaking countries.

Is Cambridge a good place for international students? 

Cambridge has a diverse range of student communities from all over the world. There are more than 22,000 students from 140 countries. The university has hundreds of international societies to provide social support. Cambridge has students from various ethnicities and groups. What is the cost of living in Cambridge?

Cambridge is an expensive city. The cost of living in Cambridge will be around £1,026 monthly, excluding tuition fees. The cost of student housing will be around £758/month; food will be around £24/month (if you eat less outside). What is the housing cost in Cambridge for students?

The cost of student accommodation in Cambridge is affordable. There are three types of student accommodation available in Cambridge. We will give a brief on each type of accommodation so you can have the option to choose one that fits you!

Student housing: This type of housing is also called PBSA. They are built near the campus building and offer many rooms. You can take it up as a single occupancy or share it with a mate!

Private Apartments: The apartments are rented out by landlords to students. It’s the same concept as renting apartments. You can take up the whole place or share it with friends. They come with modern amenities too!

University Halls: They are residence halls provided by the university. It comes with a private room, shared bathroom, and kitchen. It is based on first come, first serve!

What kinds of entertainment is in Cambridge?

Cambridge is a vibrant city and a student hub. It’s always lively, fun and young day and night too. It is all because so much entertainment is happening to give students a break from their studies. 

Food and Drinks

Cambridge has something for everyone to meet their taste buds. There are so many restaurants and cafes offering mid-range prices for students. Or, you can opt for food trucks, too, when you are low on budget, and the food is not bad! For drinks, you can head on to so many traditional inns, bars, etc. As a student, you can use the power of a discount card. Many restaurants offer discounts! So make sure you check them out!

Cinema and Theater

The city has three multiplex cinemas: Arts Picturehouse, Vue Cinema, and The Light. If you are a movie buff, you can explore these places! For those who love theater, you can watch many renowned actors and enjoy their performances. There’s the ADC Theatre, Mumford Theatre, Cambridge Corn Exchange, etc. 

Nightlife

Cambridge is one city that will tempt you and give you a reason to enjoy the nightlife. The city is lit even at night with lights, young people dressed up, and nightclubs open, welcoming students to have fun! The most popular one is the Cindies, which open up late, like Vinyl, The Fez, Lola Lo, etc. 

Shopping

Cambridge offers students many places to shop. Cambridge has three shopping centers: the Lion Yard, The Grafton, and Grand Arcades. If you love clothes, there is the finest boutique in the city center. 

What GPA is needed for Cambridge University?

A minimum 3.5 GPA is required for Cambridge University. There are many types of courses at Cambridge University:

Undergraduate Study: There are 30 UG courses covering 65 subject areas. 

Post-Graduate Study: More than 300 PG courses are available across a wide range of academic disciplines. 

Part-time study: The part-time studies in Cambridge are run under Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) and the Cambridge Judge Business School. 

Research degrees: Cambridge University offers students the opportunity to undertake a research degree. You can transfer your research degree from another university too. 

What is the acceptance rate of Cambridge University?

The acceptance rate of Cambridge University is approximately 20-21%. While this may seem higher compared to most universities in the UK, bear in mind that there are high barriers to applying to Cambridge University.
