Hay Festival is an annual event held in the book town of Hay-on-Wye, Wales. It is an independent, leading book festival in the UK and a mission-led charity organization to inspire the community that acts as a catalyst for change.

What is the Hay Festival?

It all started with a dream in 1987, and thirty years later, they reach the hearts of all ages in different countries. Every year, they come up with innovative ideas for sustainable events and projects around the world.

It is open and accessible to everyone and invites one and all to come to see, experience, and be inspired.

At the event, it will feature prize winners, scientists, authors, historians, activists, musicians, and global policymakers who will be sharing their knowledge and insight about arts, literature, and sciences.

The workshops will be held for creative artists to take part in some dynamic and interactive activities. Whether it’s a fun collage workshop, a natural craft workshop, theraplay workshop, a printing workshop, or a media workshop, you can take part. Educate and grow your skills!

Whatever you fancy, the festival restaurant and food halls offer a wide range of options to eat. They use locally sourced vegetables with sustainable catering for vegans, gluten-free foods, etc.

If you are a junk food lover, there are lots of fast food options too. From burgers, pizza, ice cream, wraps, kebabs, drinks, chips, sandwiches, etc.

Who are the exhibitors?

Explore and immerse yourself in experiencing clothing, local artworks, handcrafted jewellery, travel, charities, sustainable food, and drinks from all over the country.

What can you find in shops?

There are many items for you to browse and buy from the shops. The bookshop is going to add many books to its shelf this year.

Alongside the books, they’re open to selling new items in the store, such as a luxury tote bag, a limited edition of special Hay desk chairs, and tonnes of stationery items.
