Previously known as the University of Kent at Canterbury (UKC), is a public research university present in the town of Kent in the UK. The university was established in 1965 and was recognised as a Beloff's plate glass university. Later in the year 1965, the university was granted its Royal Charter, and in 1966, Princess Marina was formally recruited as the first Chancellor.
