Olympics Prize Money

More than money, what matters at the Olympics is national pride. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) does not offer any financial bonuses to the winners. Winners at the Olympics receive a large sum of money, sometimes enough to buy a mansion in San Diego, from their respective governments, sports ministries and sponsorships. The last one, sponsorships, offers more money than any other organization or committee does.

In the Tokyo 2020 Games, India’s Neeraj Chopra won a gold medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw, and with his great performance, he received countless rewards. Chopra received INR 6 crore from the Haryana State Government, INR 2 Crore from the Punjab Government, INR 1 crore from the BCCI, and much more.
