Established in 1948 in the city of Toronto in Ontario province, Ryerson University is a public research university that focuses on applied, career-oriented education. From its advanced experiential learning programs to its excellent entrepreneurial ecosystem, this university offers full-time and part-time programs on arts, sciences, management, and more. It is ranked among the top higher education institutions in Ontario due to its educational identity and research vision. It is home to more than 40,000 students from over 146 countries, studying in 121 undergraduate and graduate programs.
The university is placed in the busiest locality of downtown Toronto with the campus surrounding the Yonge-Dundas Square. It's a perfect location because the city is a melting pot of all media production houses and media networks. Also, students will have so much to explore outside campus.
Talking about the infrastructure of the campus, the university is spread across 121-acres. The university has properties across Toronto including Yonge Street, Jarvis Street, Dundas Street, etc. It also has a huge athletic centre which has a full size basketball and volleyball courts, cardio center, fitness centre, and more.
Built to accommodate around 900 students, there are 3 types of student residence Ryerson: Pitman Hall, O’Keefe House, and International Living and Learning Centre. These dorms come with all the basic amenities such as furnishing, air conditioning, private bathroom, Wi-Fi is available in public areas, and more. Some of them also offer meals included in the rent. The two big drawbacks of staying at these accommodations is that they are limited in numbers and also they offer lease for at least one year.
But you don’t have to worry as there are other off-campus student accommodation options available as well. Some properties also offer a dishwasher which makes doing dishes after a party an absolute breeze. There are multiple communal spaces where you can enjoy bonding with other residents and also play various indoor and board games such as ping pong, billiards, and more.
