How do I book my student accommodation at iQ?

How can I pay my rent?
You can pay for your iQ student accommodation through various methods, such as bank transfer, credit/debit card, or any other secure digital payment system.
Do I need a UK-based guarantor to book with iQ?
If you are paying your rent all at once, then you don’t require a guarantor. However, if you plan to pay your iQ rent in instalments, then you’ll need a guarantor who is at least 21 years old and not a full-time student.
Can I move in my accommodation early?
Sometimes moving in early is possible, but it largely depends on the availability of your chosen building. Please make sure you arrange everything beforehand, and contact the iQ team for confirmation.
Is iQ student accommodation secure?
Yes. All iQ buildings have CCTV, onsite support 24/7, and secure entry systems for students’ safety.
Are pets allowed at iQ?
No, pets are not allowed at iQ student accommodation. However, exceptions are made for trained service or assistance dogs. Additionally, sometimes emotional support animals may also be allowed, depending on approval.
Can I have guests over?
Yes. Guests are most welcome at iQ. However, they can stay up to 3 nights within a 7-day period. The guest policy must be followed by the student, and the guest must be 16 years or above.
Can I bring my own vehicle?
Bikes are allowed at iQ, and can be stored in designated areas upon registration. However, cars may be allowed in some buildings and may cost extra due to limited spaces.
What is included in my iQ accommodation rent?
Your rent includes all the bills, Wi-Fi, and contents insurance.
Is a laundry facility available at iQ?
Yes. Every iQ building has a designated laundry room for washing and drying your clothes.
Can I share my room with my partner?
If your partner is also a student, then some studios at iQ allow free dual occupancy. However, both of you must sign the tenancy.
Can I smoke in my room?
No. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in iQ buildings and balconies.
How can I cancel my booking?
If the reason for cancellation is Visa rejection or not meeting university entry conditions, then you can cancel before moving in. In other cases, you will remain liable for contractual rent unless another tenant is found as a replacement.
Do I have to be in my room by a specific time every night?
No. You can come and go whenever you want. But please make sure to keep the noise down between 11 pm and 7 am.
Can I sublet my iQ room?
No. Subletting your room is not allowed and is against your tenancy agreement. In case you need to leave early, please contact the iQ team, and they’ll help you.
