    Based in the Scottish city of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University is a contemporary university which was granted university status in the year 1992. The university was founded as an educational institution in the mid 18th century, by Robert Gordon, a prosperous Aberdeen merchant. It is one of two universities in the city with a strong focus on vocational courses, and brands itself as ‘The Professional University’. It currently has over 18,000 students, of whom more than 1,000 are international students from various different countries.     Robert Gordan University has a single operating campus in Aberdeen, in the south-western suburbs at Garthdee. It is the university's main campus, where all academic departments are present and teaching and research take place. The city of Aberdeen is also such a vibrant and beautiful place to live. It has a rich cultural heritage with a range of parks and open spaces close to the city centre. There are plenty of museums, art galleries, cinemas, shopping complexes, and concert venues such that you’ll find something to enjoy every day.

    Robert Gordon University offers student housing to over 1,500 students every year. These are the first-year students who are guaranteed a place in university-owned halls. The rooms are spread across the city with the furthest being only 25 minutes’ walk away. Students can stay in en-suite rooms, with studio apartments also available.

Since the campus is located close to the city centre you can find a lot of things to do there. Those who enjoy outdoor activities will be glad to know that there are a plethora of opportunities for mountain biking, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding and white water rafting. The Grampian Mountains and Cairngorms National Park are also right on our doorstep.
