The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public research university that was established in 1908 by Henry Marshall Tory. It is British Columbia's oldest university with campuses in Vancouver and Kelowna. Recently, UBC was recognized as the most international university in North America with the motto “It is Yours”. It ranks among the top three universities in Canada with one of the largest research libraries in the country. In recent years, there has been a huge surge of international students coming to study at this university. There is a 23 percent increase at the Vancouver campus and around 13 percent at the Okanagan campus.
