Australia is the third country with the highest number of international students in the world. It has seven of the world’s top 100 universities.

If you want to study in Australia, you must choose a program between three intakes:

First Intake, Second Intake, and Additional Intake

The whole process of studying in Australia involves a long journey. You have to start with:

Application, university deadline, visa application, and finally flight booking.

To understand each intake better, let’s get into details:

First Intake: Semester 1

It is the primary and most popular intake for all the universities in Australia. During this intake, universities are open to all types of courses.

The application process for all the universities begins in February or March and ends in May or June.

The deadlines vary among universities. Please check with the university for detailed information on their websites.

This is one of the most popular studies intakes in Australia among international students seeking admission to its universities.

The next best option for students after missing the semester 1 intake is the second semester.

Second Intake: Semester 2

It is the second intake for all the universities in Australia. There are a majority of programs available in the July intake.

The application process for all the universities begins in July and ends in November.

There are also some February intake programs available. The number of applications is less and usually preferred by students who have missed the last intake.

The deadlines are different for all universities. Please check with the university for detailed information on your submission.

Additional Intake: (Mid-year Intake/ Summer or Winter Programs)

This is an additional intake offered by only some universities in Australia. There are a majority of programmes and courses available in the mid-term intake.

The application process for all the universities begins in July, November, or December.

There are also some February intake programmes available. It is for students who missed out on the last intake.

It also offers students the option of summer or winter programmes. It runs for six weeks.

The deadlines are different for all universities. Please check with the university for detailed information on your submission.

Besides the courses and programmes, this intake is open to students who transfer to Australian universities.
