    Based in both Luton and Bedford, the University of Bedfordhsire is a public university which dates back to 1882. It has gained university status in 1992 as University of Luton which was later changed to the University of Bedfordshire in the year 2006. The university has around 16,000 students from over 100 countries across the globe. Since its inception in 2006, the University has invested over £130 million in building and renovating its facilities. Its sports facilities are of international standards and were used to host athletes in the London 2012 Olympic Games and 2015 Rugby World Cup.     The University of Bedfordshire is spread across six campus - four in Bedfordshire, in Bedford and Luton; and two campuses in Buckinghamshire, in Aylesbury and Milton Keynes. The Bedford campus is just 20-minutes away on foot from Bedford town centre, which enables students to enjoy both their social and academic life.  The university’s Luton campus is home to seven departments and is located in the heart of the town.
