About University of East London

Founded in 1898, the University of East London is a public university located in the London Borough of Newham, London. The university as of 2019 had 17,000 students from 135 countries enrolled at its three campuses located at Docklands and Stratford in East London. The campuses are in close proximity to the major financial centre of Canary Wharf and the region chosen to host the 2012 Olympics. UEL has seven schools offering degree programmes and other courses. Some of the major degree programmes taught by the university include Architecture, Computing and Engineering, Arts and Digital Industries. The university was also ranked 2nd in the UK for teaching quality by Times Higher Education, as well as featuring in their world’s top 200 young universities.

Campus Overview

The university has three campuses, at Stratford and Docklands, the newest at University Square Stratford. The Docklands Campus is the largest and known to be London's first new university campus in 50 years. The Stratford Campus is centred around University House which is a 19th-century listed building and home to Cass School of Education and Communities, the School of Health Sport and Bioscience and the School of Psychology. The third campus, University Square Stratford was opened in 2013 and delivers part-time and full-time study for adults.
