    Established in 1900 by Queen Victoria, the University of Birmingham is a public research university located in Edgbaston, Birmingham. It got its royal charter in 1900 as a successor to Queen's College and Mason Science College, making it the first English 'Red Brick' university to receive its own royal charter. It has also recently opened a brand-new campus in Dubai, becoming the first global top 100 and Russell Group University to establish a campus in Dubai.
